Grand Seiko SBGR311 "Cookie" Limited Edition, No. 1081/1300
The first two mechanical calibers for Grand Seiko that were introduced in 1998 were their caliber 9S51 and 9S55. These first two mechanical movements were regulated to perform well within chronometer standards and had a power reserve of 50 hours. Since then, the 9S series of movements have improved, resulting in an accuracy of -5/+3 seconds a day and offering a power reserve of no less than 72 hours.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 9S movement, Grand Seiko launched two anniversary models. The slightly smaller 39.5mm SBGH267 with a blue dial, and this model, the 42mm SBGR311 with a brown dial.
The watch is in original unpolished condition. There is some minor scratching on the case and bracelet but it's minimal. Overall, in very good condition.
In the pattern of the dial, you'll find the ‘G’ and ‘S’ that stand for Grand Seiko, as well as this lightning bolt-shaped character that indicates the name of the Daini Seikosha manufacture (Seiko Instruments Inc).
The brown of the dial has this golden glow. It looks amazing, especially with the gold GS logo and seconds hand.
On the back, the sapphire crystal that allows you to take a glance at the 9S68 movement. A gold emblem of the GS lion is printed on the inside of the glass, as well as “Caliber 9S 20th Anniversary Since 1998 Limited Edition”.
The watch is running well and is ready to go.
